Best of Tricky Woman 2007 on Tour and Maria Lassnig Retrospektive
14 June 2007 - 15 June 2007
Fine Arts / New Media

Tricky Women is an international animation film festival in Vienna. Its focus on female makers of artistic animated films is unique in Europe. Tricky Women brings this broad spectrum of topics, aesthetics, narrative styles, and techniques into the public eye and gives new impetus to animation artists. Works range from innovative contemporary computer generated character design to "classic styles" like narrative puppet, cut-out, and object animation.

The first program pays homage to the Austrian artist Maria Lassnig and offers a rare opportunity to see her animated films, which are strongly influenced by her "body awareness paintings." The "Best of Tricky Women" program focuses on outstanding Austrian and Central and East European works and provides an overview of contemporary animated filmmaking.
