"Kontakt" is the platform for the social and cultural commitment of Erste Group. We form partnerships with institutions and take initiative focusing on contemporary cultural activities, while we are also involved in educational and social projects.

Yad Vashem is the national memorial in Israel that commemorates the persecution and murder of six million Jews during Holocaust. The memorial was established in Jerusalem in 1953. The Austrian Friends of Yad Vashem preserve the memory of the Holocaust in Austria with special commemoration and educational projects.

Children play theater. With the support of Erste Group the Children's Theater Vienna allows children and young people to gain their first acting experience and to discover the stage, as well as themselves.

Erste Group is a longterm partner of Hilfswerk Austria and specially supports its annual information campaign, which in 2010 holds valuable tips in store regarding child care and child benefits, child security and precautions.

Every year since 1945, the “European Forum Alpbach” has been held in the Tyrolian mountain village of Alpbach. For almost three weeks Alpbach becomes the village of thinkers or, as Otto Molden, the founder of the Forum, called it, the “other magic mountain”.
